Pages 1-3-- Table of Contents, Title page and reflection

Unit 1

Directions-- Students can find dates, page numbers, assignments, and test dates on the table of contents. On page 2, our title page, students will find a guide to what they are learning, how they know they are successful, and a place to keep track of their scores. Page 3 allows students to reflect on what they have learned after each unit and create goals for the following unit. 

8/17- page 5-- Three Column Chart Activity

Directions-- Students should fill in examples of things they CAN do (Rights), things they SHOULD do (Responsibilities), and things they HAVE to do (Obligations). These can be examples from home, school, the community, or online.

8/17 page 6--Rights, Responsibilities, Obligations practice

Directions-- Students should identify each item on the page as either a right, a responsibility, or an obligation. Then they should add these items to their three column chart on page 5 and define jury duty and selective service at the bottom of page 5.

8/18 and 8/21-- pages 7 & 8--Immigration Nearpod

8/22- pages 9- Immigration Experience

Directions-- Students will go through an immersive experience in class. If you are absent, click here to fill in a sample table for pages 9 & 10. Then, using the information on those pages, complete page 11 on your own. (NOTE: THIS LINK WILL NOT BE ACTIVE UNTIL AFTER 8/30)

8/23-- page 10-- 14th amendment breakdown

Directions-- Students should watch the video explaining the 14th amendment.  Fill in the chart on page 10.  Check your answers with the powerpoint below.  Then answer the remaining questions on page 10 of your packet.

8/24 and 8/25-- Pages 11 and 12--Different Types of Government reading and practice

Directions-- Students will read and practice mark the text. Students will also complete Cornell Notes.  Then practice on page 13

Directions-- Students should choose a question to answer and a method of their choice to answer it. 

8/28 & 8/29- Systems of Government

Directions-- Students will read and take notes. We will review in class.  

9/2 -- Student Choice Wrap Up

Directions-- Students should choose a question to answer and a method of their choice to answer it. 

Vocab, extra credit, and study guides

Directions-- Students are also responsible for completing ongoing vocabulary. There is an extra credit assignment available each unit. A study guide will be uploaded here one week before the exam.
